December Color of the Month

Tis the Season where color of the month gets taken over by my holiday table and display! This year I wanted to do something different for the table setting. I’ve had this amazing aqua themed holiday tablecloth for some time and my parents got me this aqua Russel Wright set this summer, great find! It goes great together and adds a fresh feel to the table.

The blue backed house shaped shelf fits right in with my other vintage crates making for a nice display setting. So many new vintage pieces this year too! Follow my artgoodies instagram account for close ups of these gems, exclusive sales, etc.

August! People are starting to complain about how summer is over. Nope, there’s still 2 solid months! It’s beautiful and warm and it’s NOT over. The first day of fall is September 22. Bold color and strawberries make this month’s color of the month scream happy summer!

Fave vintage: old fashioned glasses, chef, and also the other recipe box, gorgeous flower glasses, and fun clearance hang tags, anchored by a red striped edge napkin.

Fave vintage: strawberry tablecloth, Fire King dishes, star napkins, raised pattern mugs, red melmac plate with a cast aluminum dish, and an artgoodies strawberry organic tea towel too!

Color of the Month July 2018!

July! With the heat at the beginning of this month I guess the warm coral color for this month’s post is more than appropriate! I’m not a huge fan of super hot, however, these temps make for the perfect cottage days floating in the lake!

Fave vintage: fun plastic play kitchen, coral speckled melmac including hard to find salt n p’s! And a really unusual McDonald’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers Boy Scout milk glass mug by Anchor Hocking, haven’t found any info about that yet. Plus a peach stripe border napkin as an anchor.

Fave vintage: speckled coral melmac, it’s the Gaiety line by Brookpark, designed by Joan Luntz. I tend to keep the aqua for myself but love the coral too. I had a gorgeous floral arrangement for the center that styles better, BUT I’ve never ever had a melmac bonbon tray so there it is! Back to vintage faves: peach border napkins, fiesta tablecloth, and a coral shell artgoodies towel (also available in navy) because it’s July and it’s lake/beach season!

Color of the Month June 2018

June! Suddenly it feels like summer is in full swing! We’ve been gardening away, which absolutely needs its very own blog post, and enjoying patio dinners, and a weekend away here and there. This month blue and green are on the scene, let’s get right into color of the month!

Fave vintage: salt n P’s, little wood figure, glass shakers, cuuuute little vintage kitchen still in the package-parts of it are tumbled over but I can’t figure out quite yet how to not rip it to get it stabilized in there. And Marcrest Stetson Swiss Chalet mugs, cute Lustroware recipe box, Holiday thermos, and a vintage napkin on the big gold tray.

Fave vintage: tablecloth, blue stripe napkins, texas ware melmac plates, Iris glasses, a wee bouquet from the yard, and an artgoodies organic sailboat tea towel because it’s basically summer! Don’t forget to look for lots of color of the month items in my vintage shop.

Color of the Month May 2018

May! It’s all about getting the garden rolling around here. We’re super excited to see everything we worked on popping up this season, and we have the veggie garden in about 3 weeks earlier this year. Last year we got a new roof and were waiting on that to be done so the garden didn’t get destroyed in the process. We saw a bee house last year and thought it was pretty interesting and cool. Our pollinator pals need all the help they can get these days. So after some research we decided to build a big giant one around Buddah. We got some old antique crates at an estate sale and I started building those together and adding more pieces. Utilizing some of the free bricks we got from our front yard project, as well as the old cedar boards from the raised beds that were rotting. We upcycled quite a bit with this house actually including some hard cardboard rolls from inside fabric bolts. There are a few spots to fill in but we’ve seen some bees buzzing about their new home already! And that brings me to the honey colored color of the month, including my artgoodies Save the Bees Tea Towel!

Fave vintage: ceramic bowl made in Western Germany, Pyrex cream and sugar. Pepsi glass in all sorts of languages, amber juice glasses, instant coffee holder, and horse chalkware. Anchored on a vintage napkin, and awesome huge gold tray.

Fave vintage: simple plaid tablecloth, melmac plates and cups and saucers, and a little brown designed edge milk glass handled bowl. A few daffodils from the yard, along with the usual napkins and silverware join the table. And last but certainly not least, an artgoodies Save the Bees Please towel! Available in shop or message me your email and I’ll send you and invoice. $18 each for my hand printed certified organic tea towels. Designed with love by me!

Color of the Month April 2018!

Yay, April! Of course, I’m nearly garden obsessed. I’ve got some heirloom seeds sprouting this year, and we’re well on the way with our project out front. We got some free bricks from what used to be a dairy in our neighborhood and we’re in the process of getting rid of more grass and making a little pattern out front. And we’ve got big ideas for something new along the driveway side. This month’s color of the month has me feeling like driving down a country road, stopping at some farm stands, picking up some old time treasures, and having a picnic with a slice of pie. I had planned to have my 1953 Chevy pickup about now, but that dream awaits. I’m really longing for a slower paced feeling in today’s fast paced world. I’m focused on all that inspires me and creating even more of that feeling around me. Like the cigar box says, breathe, haha. Many items available in the vintage shop!

Fave vintage-my grandfather’s cigar box, tomato juice glasses, awesome rare Mobil Gas glass, rooster glasses, coffee mug, tape tin, thermos, canister, grounded by a vintage napkin.

Fave vintage: cute covered bridge vintage tablecloth, Fire King plates, pie carrier, red fired on milk glass mugs, red striped napkins, jadite plate, and an artgoodies all over pattern bike towel!

Color of the Month March 2018

March! Spring Fever has officially set in even with the bitz of snow the last couple days. I’m constantly looking at seed catalogs and dreaming of the garden. We picked up some bare root blue hostas and a few seed packets as well. We’ve already done a basic yard cleanup and edged the sidewalk and curb out front so once it gets a little warmer we’ll easily be able to rake the leaves protecting the fresh sprouts and off it will go. We’ve got a plan for making the strip between the sidewalk and street grass free and look forward to making a new green space there. We’ve been dreaming up some other projects as well and are researching here and there. So, this month, ode to green in thinking about green sprouts and gardeny goodness with a splash of St. Paddy’s in there. Enjoy!

Fave vintage: depression glass cups, cut glass green juice glasses, fun mugs, and a little tea canister, anchored by a vintage pale green edge napkin. All available in shop, except the juice glasses!

Fave vintage: ivy tablecloth, green striped napkins used as placemats, plaid napkins, dogwood and church steeple glasses that remind me rummage season is almost here! Green melmac dishes, jadite plate, green jar, the addition of lovely flowers including a cabbage that feels very St Patrick’s day, and last but certainly not least, an artgoodies organic cotton nest tea towel. Bring on the spring green!

Color of the Month February 2018!

February! January zipped by a bit with feeling under the weather for weeks. These winter days are chugging along and I’m dreaming of the garden every day, slightly avoiding working on taxes, but meh, they’ll get done. The days are noticeably longer and the sun is peeking out a bit more it seems. The birds and squirrels are pretty active and I’m starting to hear some birds singing in the morning which gets me excited for the promise of Spring around the corner!  It’s a couple weeks until Valentine’s so this month’s color is PINK! And don’t forget you can shop now for there are plenty of artgoodies products that fit the season for decor or gifting!

Fave vintage: pink melmac, tiny Hazel Atlas planter, cute couple planter, Hazel Atlas cream n sugar, Pyrex bowl, and Hazel Atlas salt n p’s. AND 2 funny Kewpie planters from my personal collection, anchored by a simple pink edged vintage napkin. Lots of this available in the vintage shop as usual!

Fave vintage: pretty floral tablecloth, Fire King plates with melmac on top, boomerang glasses, pink edged napkins as placemats, and an artgoodies all over cupcake organic tea towel! Plus this very pink poinsettia is still looking smart in its MCCoy pot! Oh, and that depression glass oval etched bowl is quite pretty!

Color of the Month January 2018!

Color of the Month January 2018, finally! We’re off to a great but rough start. We started the New Year in vintage style and then spent a couple days in Indianapolis. Follow me on instagram for daily details! Then we came home part of a day early to avoid the snowstorm near my parents and fell sick with a horrible virus/cold. Whatever it is it’s hanging on. In the beginning it yielded a super high fever with a couple days of sleeping for me, even my eyes were so sore I couldn’t have them open long enough to read a magazine or get some good sick tv time in. Yuck. I’m on the mend now and slowly getting some energy back, and Stephan who had a milder version is feeling much better too. So, delay in getting the massive amounts of holiday decor away, delay in color of the month! I often like to start with a crisp blue January. It feels fresh and clean after all the decor comes down.

fave vintage:awesome Russel Wright melmac my parents picked up for me! Vitrock little bo peep mug, McCoy butterfly planter, pedestal mugs, more melmac:cream and sugar, cute tea canister, anchored by a plaid napkin.

Fave vintage: a gorgeous vintage tablecloth grounds all this fantastic Russel Wright melmac! A cute lil planter, and a couple sweet napkins as placemats make the grade along with an artgoodies organic tea towel with percolator print.

Color of the Month November 2017!

November! I’m feeling more chipper about the holiday season this year. Maybe it’s because we’re slated for a fun photo shoot, or because the temps have been awesome and I’ve been gardening away for what seems longer than normal. I did a big pre cold harvest in the garden to avoid the usual and sometimes flashlight assisted panic harvest. So much better, ha. We’ve also been busy gathering up all sorts of goodies for the vintage shop! Vintage holiday as well as the usual home goods. Plenty of vintage to choose from this season! Plus I’ve been working more in the studio: making, cleaning, and thinking of new plans and ideas which feels nice. I’ve really been on a bit of a hiatus, focusing on Stephan and I, the wedding, not feeling well before and after surgery, and just feeling tired from working SO hard for sooo long. I’m gearing back up though, so look out. Let’s get back to the Color of the Month, getting festive for Thanksgiving, and I’m already thinking holiday decor!

Fave vintage: Gurley candles, Warwick China, Pyrex, anchored by an embroidered napkin.

Fave vintage: another great fall tablecloth, napkins doubling as placemats, pyrex, squirrel planter, Warwick restaurant Ware dishes, and and artgoodies deer towel to finish it off.
