Home for the Holidays Part 1

In lieu of color of the month, the annual home for the holidays December edition! I’m hustling and bustling as usual over here and getting ready to go to Chicagoland in a week for my magical pop up shop INSIDE the bottom of the giant Christmas tree! So I’m extra busy, no time to waste!
blog holiday 2015 side

It’s fun to mix up the holiday display a little every year! A change in the boxes including the addition of a little house shaped one, some new blow mold lights, a plastic Santa cookie jar, new bottle brush trees, a few new colored reindeer, and a few new small friends too! I have sold some pieces in case you’re wondering, and you might wanna head to the vintage shop to scope out the well stocked vintage holiday section there! After the feature in Vintage Holiday Magazine Fall 2015 issue I felt like I could let a few pieces go and begin to rotate a bit.

Color of the Month October 2015!

October. My all time favorite seasons are coming to an end and the busy season is starting up and the chill is beginning to edge in a bit. Honestly, this time of year always makes me feel a little blue as gardens wane and leaves fall. There’s nothing like the growth, green, flowers, color, sunshine, and warm fresh air of spring and summer to feed my soul and make me feel whole. I’m still taking advantage of those beautiful days outside, even though I slipped into a pair of boots for the first time last week, NO! You know how much I hate socks and wish I could just run around barefoot in flip flops all year long! It’s a season of change, and this year I’m seeing some extra things happen around me with the people I love. Some wonderful things are happening that are exciting and then there are some things happening that are hard and are just breaking my heart as their season brings big change. Life, like the natural world, has so many seasons. And so, color of the month October 2015 seems ever so fitting as blue.

Color of the Month JULY!

It’s almost impossible to think that it’s already July! The last couple week of June just flew by with busyness, cottage time, and work. I’m extra excited this year about the 4th of July, although I don’t think I’ll be at the cottage which hasn’t happened too many times in my life. However, one of my very best friends will be in town from Seattle and I can’t wait to hang out with her! Yay! So, appropriately the colors of the month for this July happens to be red, white, and blue!

Color of the Month May 2015!

April was a busy month with the Apartment Therapy photo shoot/ home tour, finishing and sending off product to Whole Foods stores in NY. I partnered up with Whole Foods and Etsy Wholesale for that one, I’ve been sew busy (pun intended) I think I forgot to share that here. Also, getting ready and traveling to and from The Country Living Magazine Fair in TN (more on that later), birthdays (including mine), my parents anniversary, the start of vintage buying season, and my regular artgoodies work load. I’ve been crazy busy but I’ve been having a great time. I’m beginning to wonder what kind of energy I’m operating on. My mom has been telling me for quite some time I’m like the Energizer bunny. I guess when you’re happy doing what you love you have extra power to keep going. Also, the fact that you are entirely responsible for it ALL adds a little push. Truth be told after this last month and travel I went to bed  at 7:15 last night. But, I got up at 4 am to go to an antique show over by Detroit with my pal Abby of Binks and the Bad Housewife. It’s nice when you can find friends who drank the go go juice from the same magical fountain of go getters. Flea marketing and antique shopping with someone who is also an early bird and can keep the pace is helpful. You get in and out like a vintage ninja before the crowd has had their coffee. For most of my vintage finds as of late follow me on instagram here, get a sneak peek before items head to the shop! Now about that color of the month! Enjoy!

Color of the Month!

  • Orange you glad it’s almost Spring! I know I am! Daylight savings is just around the corner but it’s hard to believe as the snow and cold linger on. Give me sunshine, fresh air, plants, gardening, the farmers market, and rummage sales! It’s pretty obvious that I need color in my life and the gray  days, white snow, and stick trees aren’t cutting it. With that I give you March’s color of the month. Mostly orange with a little help from some cheery yellow and green friends.

Fave vintage items: striped mugs, tea towel, juice glasses, orange bowl, Gurley candles

Color of the Month February 2015!

February?!  Wow, ok, so 2015 is already off to a quick start. I’ve been trying to pace myself with work which is really hard for me to do. However, the lack of sunshine helps when it comes to lounging about working on new products (more coming soon) and napping. I think I’m caught up on my sleep from the busy holiday, finally. Speaking of sunshine, yellow seemed like the most appropriate color during this gray blah thing we call winter. Here it is, color of the month February 2015!
